Homemade pies for any occasion.
I am Rebecca Dieter, a mom, home baker, and veterinarian. I learned my way around the kitchen from my mom. Not only did she teach me how to bake fantastic pies from scratch, she also taught me that there's nothing more important than family. When I was growing up, sharing a pie was a family event, and it often started with the fruit. We picked and pitted cherries, and peeled and sliced apples that we grew on our farm. When the work was done, we would gather around the table to laugh, remember, and share our stories. Pie time was family time.
I love making delicious pies that bring your family and friends together, like they do for us.
You can't have a fabulous pie without quality ingredients. Only the best fruit can make great pie. My cherry, peach, rhubarb and apple pies are made with perfectly ripe, local (when possible) fruit that comes from my neighbors at local produce farms and orchards, my own yard, or from the gardens of my family and friends. I am particular to select the ripest and best-tasting fruit when it is fresh, so I can preserve it to be enjoyed year-round. My pies are bursting with fruit. I adjust the sugar content so that the pure fruit flavor shines through and pairs well with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I make my crust from scratch--no shortcuts, so that it comes out golden and flaky every time. I add a sprinkle of sparkling sugar and a signature flower and leaf cluster to every pie.
